The Vision
To become an internationally recognized leader that facilitates research and development, intellectual property rights and protection, and technology transfer and commercialization.

The Mission
To identify, develop, and foster technology transfer and commercialization of leading edge technology generated by researchers, faculty, students and employees of the HBCUs/MIs and the general public.

Our Goals
• To create a conduit that can respond to and provide work flow efficiency for marketable technology opportunities that are:

1. overlooked or pursued at HBCUs/MIs;
2. deficient of a functional research department;
3. not developed due to costs associated with R&D; and
4. absence of a technology transfer and commercialization vehicle.

• To reduce costs required to acquire and manage intellectual property assets;
• To strengthen the relationships among HBCUs/MIs, private industry and governments to promote the creation of collaborative teams;
• To generate license and royalty revenue resulting from commercialization;
• To provide assistance for new start-up companies around innovative technology;
• To help develop the 21st century workforce;
• To educate and train youth in innovative thinking, intellectual property and entrepreneurship; and
• To assist in providing a critical fund base to help subsidize the economic investment for technology transfer and commercialization.
